From the organizations listed on http://code.google.com/soc/2008/ it might be possible that Git, Mercurial and SCons consider an integration project. Given that one can apply to multiple organizations, I think KDE students should use that possibility to increase their chances of being selected, and the number of KDE related projects overall.</description>
